How to resolve VirnetX One/War Room installation failure if Gabriel is already installed.
Error Installing V1/WR when Gabriel is installed
Applies to: VirnetX One on Windows or macOS, VirnetX War Room on Windows or macOS
When Gabriel is installed on a user's desktop, installation of newer VirnetX products will be blocked. To bypass installation restrictions when Gabriel is also installed, follow these instructions:
On Windows:
- Create a new empty file named "allowVX1.txt" and save it to your ".gabriel" directory. For example "C:\Users\john\.gabriel\allowVX1.txt"
- Retry Installation
On macOS:
- Create a new empty text file named "allowVX1.txt" and save it to your ".gabriel" directory. For example "/Users/john/.gabriel/allowVX1.txt"
- Retry Installation
- Open the "HKCU_registry.ini" file for editing. This file is found in your ".gabriel" directory. For example "/Users/john/.gabriel/HKCU_registry.ini"
- Change "UseVirtualAdapter=0" --> "UseVirtualAdapter=1"
- Restart Gabriel
- Retry Installation
